This extender works like a bridge between your computer and a wireless router that is beyond the range of your wireless router. To execute this, Extender has to perform two jobs –
- It connects to a woreless network that is running and is up. When an extender connects wireless to a network, it performs like a network client. This is as same as a computer connects to the network.
- The extender also acts as an access point to the PC. It has its own wireless network known as NETGEAR_EXT. In this, as an access point, the Extender perform chores that wireless router do. For instance broadcasting its network name (SSID).
